My phone starts lagging all of sudden. It struggles to run simple like what's app, YouTube, etc. It also getting heated. My phone is redmi note 7. Whole UI is just laggy.

Have you installed any new app recently and allowed it to run in the background. Try to clean up the phone. Remove unwanted apps. Clear the unwanted chat from whatsapp groups. Do not install the apps which are sent through links or as attachment. Always install the app from Google Playstore.
