Is Apple goint to start manufacturing unit in India?
It is reported that Apple is going to start manufacturing unit in India. Apple's team of officials led by
Global Vice President Priya Balasubramaniam and other two members met with Commerce Minsiter (Government of India) Smt, Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday 25th of this month.
It is reported that meeting last for around 40 minutes to discuss the poropsal for setting up the unit.
After this next step of Apple team was to have discussion with inter-ministerial team, which will have look into Apple's demand for setting up the unit in India on the same day.
It is also reported that, Later the Apple team in India will meet on the same day with Government officials of different departments like Enviroment, Forest as well Electronic and IT Ministry to discuss the various incentives on tax and concessions on customs for 15-years for importing iPhone kits.
It is learnt that Apple will start manufacturing new iPhone by April 2017
Who will manufacture iPhone for Apple in India
It is reported that Primary supplier in India for manufacturing the new iPhone will be ‘Wistron’
If demand increases then Secondary suppliers like Foxconn and others makers will work as OEMs Only.
